This bill increases the list of protected classes in Alaska’s human rights law by prohibiting discrimination based on “gender identity.” CPAC recognizes that this measure would be used to create frivolous lawsuits against conservatives and opposed this bill. The House voted against discharging this bill from committee on May 12, 2023 by a vote of 18-22.
