This bill is an attempt to add more bad substances that farmer’s cannot use to kill weeds by starting an investigation of paraquat dichloride that will inevitably end in banning it. CPAC sees this as another attempt to ban widely used pesticides that have suddenly become “unhealthy” and opposed this bill. The Assembly passed the bill on August 29, 2024 by a vote of 51-16 and the bill later became law.
