This bill requires insurers to, regardless of where they are located, cover the cost of abortions and so-called “gender affirming care.” CPAC opposes insurance mandates, opposes measures that force people who desire to be insured to subsidize the cost of grotesque and unethical procedures, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on September 6, 2023 by a vote of 32-8 and the bill later became law.
