HB 1272
Green Tax Credits for Numerous Favored Industries.
2023 - Colorado Senate
Vote Description

This bill extends tax credits to companies and individuals to help with the state’s transition to a supposedly greener economy. For example, the bill apportions tax credits to those that purchase electric vehicles and bicycles. It also gives tax credits to industrial facilities to help them implement greenhouse gas reduction measures. CPAC supports all forms of energy, does not believe that the government should support one form of energy over another, opposes measures that make taxpayers shoulder the cost of expensive green initiatives, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 1, 2023 by a vote of 23-12 and the bill later became law.
