H 295
Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act in Idaho.
2023 - Idaho Senate
Vote Description

This bill prohibits the government from maintaining a registry of those who have purchased and own a gun. The bill also prohibits payment networks from discriminating against firearms retailers in certain ways. For example, the network may not decline a card transaction based solely on the assignment or non-assignment of a firearms code to the retailer. CPAC supports the founders’ belief in the Second Amendment, supports efforts to diminish the government’s surveillance of lawful gun owners, and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 29, 2023 by a vote of 34-1 and the bill later became law.
