HB 3491
Strengthening the Force of Prevailing Wage Mandates.
2023 - Illinois Senate
Vote Description

This bill allows laborers to take out a lawsuit against a contractor or subcontractor for not paying them the prevailing wage on a public works project. CPAC recognizes that the payment of the prevailing wage rate ratchets up the cost of projects to taxpayers, opposes measures that make public projects more expensive, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 4, 2023 by a vote of 40-16 and the bill later became law.
