This bill requires unused public school buildings to be sold to charter schools. It also increases the length of time for which a charter may be in place from 7 to 15 years. CPAC supports efforts to promote the growth of charter schools and supported this bill as a step in the right direction. The House passed the bill on April 27, 2023 by a vote of 65-31 and the bill later became law.
