HB 146
Walking Back Previous Favorable Changes to the Unemployment Insurance System.
2023 - Kentucky Senate
Vote Description

This bill deletes provisions from public law that allowed the maximum number of weeks for which one could receive unemployment benefits to be 12 weeks, increasing the maximum number to 16 or more depending on the state’s unemployment rate. CPAC opposes measures that diminish the unemployment compensation system’s status as a temporary bridge between jobs and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 8, 2023 by a vote of 36-0 and the bill later became law.
