Streamlining Burdensome Environmental Permitting Processes.

Vote Description
This bill includes various provisions that streamline the permitting processes established under the Clean Water Act and Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act. For example, it states that the Energy and Environment Cabinet may not impose regulations in some instances that are stricter than what the US Fish and Wildlife Service already has in place. CPAC supports efforts to streamline burdensome permitting processes and supported this bill. The Senate overrode Governor Beshear’s veto of this bill on March 29, 2023 by a vote of 31-6 and the bill later became law.
