Vote Description
This bill prohibits schools from moving a student to the fourth from the third grade if it so be that the student demonstrates continual reading deficiencies. CPAC opposes “social promotion” in schools, supports efforts to ensure that students actually learn how to read in school, and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on May 16, 2023 by a vote of 88-15 and the bill later became law.
