Vote Description
This bill requires social media companies operating in the state of Louisiana to, prior to letting a person gain access to a social media account, have that person undergo an age verification check. It then prohibits the company from giving accounts to minors without the consent of the minor’s parents. CPAC supports efforts to increase parental rights in general in this way and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 7, 2023 by a vote of 35-0 and the bill later became law.
