Vote Description

This bill requires libraries to adopt a system that allows parents to choose whether or not their child may check out sexually explicit materials. For example, the bill states that a library must create a library card system that allows parents to decide if their child is permitted to check out pornography. CPAC supports appropriate efforts to increase parental rights in general and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 8, 2023 by a vote of 21-13 and the bill later became law.
