This bill adds gender identity, sexual orientation, and various other identity categories to the list of individuals protected by Maryland’s anti-discrimination statutes. CPAC recognizes that these provisions will be used to summon a large amount of frivolous litigation against conservatives and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 8, 2024 by a vote of 122-11 and the bill later became law.
