This bill requires that the Maryland Medical Assistance Program be applied to individuals seeking radical gender surgeries and hormone replacement therapy. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to help pay for other people’s self-mutilation and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 31, 2023 by a vote of 31-13 and the bill later became law.
