LD 398
Cramming Down Wage Mandates Onto Farmers.
2023 - Maine House of Representatives
Vote Description

This bill requires farmers to pay Maine’s minimum wage to all of their workers. It also prohibits farmers from allowing their employees to work more than 40 hours per week unless they are paid 1.5x their regular wages for each hour they work in excess of their initial 40 hours per week. CPAC opposes government wage mandates and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on June 21, 2023 by a vote of 73-71 and the bill later became law.
