This bill makes it legal to abort an unborn baby after viability if a licensed physician deems it “necessary.” CPAC recognizes that the ambiguity of this provision makes it easy to receive an abortion at any time during pregnancy and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on July 6, 2023 by a vote of 20-11 and the bill later became law.
