This bill creates a government-directed paid family and medical leave program. CPAC believes that employees should be allowed to negotiate their employment benefits with their employers in an environment free from government interference and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 21, 2023 by a vote of 22-12 but the bill never received final approval.
