Vote Description

This bill recognizes that parents have the right to direct the education and upbringing of their children. It also recognizes that they have the right to make health care decisions for their children and to enroll them in the schools of their choice. CPAC supports parental rights in general and supported this bill. The House overrode Governor Cooper’s veto of this bill on August 16, 2023 by a vote of 72-47 and the bill later became law.
