This bill appropriates funds to the Council of the Arts to defray its expenses. This Council’s awards grants to artists and assists in the promotion of the arts within the state. CPAC does not believe that the government should involve itself in funding other people’s art projects and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 26, 2023 by a vote of 40-7 and the bill later became law.
