This bill requires that the sex of a child be listed as either “male” or “female” on birth records. The term “Not yet determined” may not be used to designate the sex of a child. CPAC supports efforts to encourage birth records to reflect a person’s actual sex and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 3, 2023 by a vote of 42-5 and the bill later became law.
