This motion attempts to override Governor Pillen’s line-item veto of funds appropriated for new state auditor positions and salary increases. The Governor noted that the Auditor has sufficient resources to cover its constitutional duties. CPAC opposes unnecessary spending, opposes the inappropriate expansion of the bureaucracy, and opposed this motion. The motion passed on May 31, 2023 by a vote of 31-14 and the veto was overridden. (A “No” vote supported the CPAC position).
