This bill prohibits the governor from extending states of emergency more than 3 times for each declared emergency. While CPAC prefers legislation that better targets the abuse of emergency powers, it still supports small efforts to tamp down such abuse and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 22, 2023 by a vote of 193-185 but the bill never became law.
