A 5415
Throwing Money At First-Time Homebuyers and Wealthy Developers in New Jersey.
2023 - New Jersey Senate
Vote Description

This bill creates a program designed to give zero-interest, forgivable loans to first-time homebuyers such that they may make a down payment on their first home. The bill also creates the Resilient Home Construction Pilot Program, the likes of which will funds developers hoping to rehabilitate existing homes. CPAC opposes the taxpayer-funded enrichment of wealthy developers, does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to subsidize other people’s down payments, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 30, 2023 by a vote of 36-0 and the bill later became law.
