This bill prohibits individuals from handling firearms within 100 feet of “election sites.” The definition of an “election site” includes polling places, places where a ballot drop box is present, and central counting places. CPAC opposes the expansion of gun-free zones and opposed this bill. The Assembly passed this bill on April 25, 2023 by a vote of 28-14 but Governor Lombardo vetoed this bill.
