This bill amends the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act such that it now comes into law on July 1, 2023. CPAC recognizes that the numerous ambiguous restrictions that this act places onto election officials open further opportunities for vote fraud, opposes measures that decrease election security, and opposed this bill. The Assembly passed this bill on June 10, 2023 by a vote of 95-45 and the bill later became law.
