This bill, the likes of which is part of a larger package of bills aimed at housing, performs a myriad of functions designed to further dip the government’s hand into housing initiatives. For example, the bill establishes a new revolving loan fund designed to help municipalities and towns provide more housing to people. CPAC believes that taxpayers should not be placed on the hook in order to provide housing to people and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on March 4, 2024 by a vote of 50-6 and the bill later became law.
