This bill establishes the Rhode Island Hope Scholarship pilot program, the likes of which will apportion scholarships to qualifying students attending Rhode Island colleges. CPAC does not believe that taxpayers should be forced to pay off other people’s tuitions and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on June 16, 2023 by a vote of 27-4 and the bill later became law.
