This bill establishes the framework to continue creating and providing government-supported prekindergarten programs to people throughout the state. CPAC opposes the government’s efforts to replace parents as the primary caregivers over children and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 16, 2024 by a vote of 31-5 but the bill did not become law.
