The Matthew Rosendale amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2024 prohibits TRICARE from covering gender reassignment surgeries or hormone replacement therapies. TRICARE, for context, is the uniformed services health care program for active-duty service members. The amendment also prohibits the Department of Defense from furnishing any form of radial gender surgery. CPAC believes that public funds should not be used to fund radical and unnecessary gender surgeries and supported this amendment.
