The Scott Perry amendment to H. R. 4665 prohibits the government from funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency. The UNRWA is a welfare organization that is specifically designed to give assistance to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. UNRWA schools have, for years, been a major source of antisemitism and indoctrination for the Palestinian population. There is also mounting evidence that the UNRWA has repeatedly coordinated its efforts with the terrorist group Hamas. CPAC believes that the federal government should not fund the work of antisemites and supported this amendment. The House defeated this amendment on September 28, 2023 by a vote of 213-218, just a little over a week before the October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel.
