HR 7673
Liberty in Laundry Act
2024 - US House of Representatives

Vote Description
This bill by Andrew Ogles (CPAC Score 97%) makes it more difficult for the Department of Energy to prescribe and enforce burdensome new standards for clothes washers. The bill requires, among other things, that the standards are economically justified and not likely to result in additional net costs to consumers. CPAC believes that in a free society people should be able to buy any clothes washers they desire and supported this modest effort at controlling excess regulation. The House passed the bill on December 10, 2024 by a vote of 215-200 but the bill was not taken up by the Senate.
