This bill approves an amendment to Burlington’s charter to allow non-citizens to vote in its local elections. CPAC believes that non-citizens should not be permitted to vote in local elections and opposed this bill. The Senate overrode the Governor’s veto of this bill on June 20, 2023 by a vote of 21-9 and the bill later became law.
