This proposition attempts to insert a provision into Vermont’s Constitution that would duplicate and expand upon existing federal law prohibiting the government from discriminating between groups based on race, sex, gender identity, or national origin. It specifies that this means that this amendment is to be used to ensure that the government does not perpetuate the so-called “legal, social, or economic inferiority” of a particular class of people. CPAC recognizes that these provisions will serve as the impetus for the crushing of any conservatism left in Vermont’s government and for the promotion of obscenely radical Leftist ideology. CPAC, therefore, opposes this proposition. The Senate passed this proposition on April 23, 2024 by a vote of 28-0.
