SB 5599
Aiding and Abetting Human Traffickers.
2023 - Washington Senate
Vote Description

This bill allows runaway youths to stay in publicly controlled temporary shelters without telling the youth’s parents if it is found that the minor is seeking gender reassignment medical services. CPAC recognizes that the government is not a better parent than actual parents, opposes measures that allow government agents to shield critical information about minors from their parents, and strongly opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on April 19, 2023 by a vote of 29-20 and the bill later became law.
