This bill prohibits public institutions of higher education from restricting non-violent speech and creating Orwellian “free speech zones.” CPAC supports efforts to protect First Amendment freedoms and supported this bill. The Assembly passed this bill on November 7, 2023 by a vote of 62-36 but the bill had not become law as of the end of 2023.
