This bill puts into place several provisions that will help promote charter schools.  For example, it gives charter schools access to School Safety Fund money and allows charter schools to include before and after school activities in their education program. It also prohibits governmental entities from, in some circumstances, imposing more stringent regulations on public charter schools than on public non-charter schools. CPAC supports the expansion of the charter school system and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on March 11, 2023 by a vote of 32-1 and the bill later became law.
