Vote Description

This bill establishes a dynamic cap on the maximum number of weeks for which a person may receive unemployment benefits that fluctuates based on the state unemployment rate. It also requires individuals to conduct certain work search activities on a weekly basis in order to be eligible to receive unemployment benefits. CPAC supports efforts to ensure that unemployment insurance remains a temporary bridge between jobs and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on January 23, 2023 by a vote of 27-5 but the bill did not progress in the House.
