Whistleblowers Reveal Plot Against Trump

A deliberate effort by government intelligence agencies, foreign allies, and high-ranking officials from the previous administration to sabotage a sitting U.S. president’s campaign would constitute an unprecedented abuse of power and a direct attack on the democratic process. According to Tulsi Gabbard, sitting U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Donald Trump’s 2016 victory was the target of such abuses of power.
Gabbard’s release of declassified documents regarding the allegations, coupled with whistleblower testimony, reveals a well-coordinated, “deep-state” effort to manipulate intelligence and falsely imply Russian interference to sabotage Trump’s 2016 victory —an offense that demands full accountability.
Gabbard’s memo and documents released Friday, July 18th, exposed coordination within the intelligence community and the Obama Administration to frame Trump with Russian collusion for election interference. The Durham investigation has already uncovered severe misconduct, including the falsification of evidence linking Trump to Russian collusion by FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith.
Emerging Whistleblowers and Intelligence Manipulation at the Highest Level
Gabbard fervently alleged that Obama-era officials manipulated intelligence to frame Trump for Russian collusion, citing email chains and situational awareness by key players such as Ben Rhodes. She highlights the use of foreign allies to spy on Trump, detailing what she called a “years-long coup” against him, assuring that “We have whistleblowers…coming forward now…people who were around, who were working within the intelligence community who were so disgusted by what happened…because they, too…want to see justice delivered.”
Internal disillusionment, particularly with the administration and intelligence community, further underscores the severity of the actions taken against President Trump. Often accused of interfering with democracy, Trump seems to have been the subject of just that.
Special Counsel John Durham, a special counsel appointed by the Justice Department in the first Trump administration to investigate the fabrication of a Trump-Russia collusion narrative, secured a guilty plea from Kevin Clinesmith in 2020 on charges relating to applications under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, targeting Carter Page as part of the FBI’s surveillance of people tied to Trump’s 2016 campaign. Despite his formidable behavior, a federal judge sentenced Clinesmith to a mere probation period and 400 hours of community service in January 2021, with Clinesmith facing no further consequences.
The Merit of Deep State Allegations
Gabbard emphasizes that “This…historic consequence…cannot be limited to one or two or three different people…The implications and the effects of what actually occurred [are] putting into a clear picture what we are referring to when we refer to the deep state.”
Gabbard’s mention of the “deep state” encompasses unelected career bureaucrats, particularly within intelligence and security agencies, who prioritize personal or political agendas at the expense of democratic outcomes. Their intense power to shape the public narrative is evident, given the widespread belief in the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, undermining neutral government, and implementing weaponized bureaucracy. Government agencies should serve the Constitution, not partisan interests, to dismantle the self-protecting machine that is the deep state.
The alleged conspiracy to frame Donald Trump for Russian collusion overreaches political scandals and wades into treason-adjacent constitutional breaches. Gabbard stresses that “there must be indictments. Those responsible, no matter how powerful…must be held accountable.” This means nothing until those involved are prosecuted to the full extent and put in jail, without leniencies or implicit privileges.
