  • Statement from CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp on the Indictment of President Trump

Statement from CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp on the Indictment of President Trump Statement from CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp on the Indictment of President Trump “We are appalled and strongly condemn the abuse of power coming from the New York District Attorney. Americans have lost confidence in institutions and government experts because truth has become a casualty to raw political power. The renewed prosecutorial pursuit and indictmentof President Trump is an outrageous breach of constitutional norms and a continuation of his maniacal political prosecution. We believe that the authoritarian punishment of political opponents is deeply un-American and is more akin to the proceedings of a Kangaroo court in a corrupt Third World Banana Republic. For too long now our justice system has been at the disposal of unhinged bureaucrats, overzealous activist judges, and radicalized individuals who have transformed the institutions of our nation into political weapons. Without the proper countermeasures, the Left will continue to wield our judicial system against its opponents and further de-legitimize our democracy. President Donald J. Trump is not the first victim of this abuse, and he will certainly not be the last.” ### NEWS & RELEASES . Based on CPAC Ratings, Harris-Walz Ticket Most Radical In Democrat Party History Based on CPAC Ratings, Harris-Walz Ticket Most Radical In Democrat Party History ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 6, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals the radical far-left agenda behind Kamala Harris’ VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. “The Democrat Party now has the most radical Presidential ticket in the history of modern politics,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “ Kamala Harris (CPAC Lifetime 4.45%) and Tim Walz (CPAC Lifetime 6.95%) will be a disaster for the prosperity and freedoms Americans deserve.” Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (CPAC Lifetime 6.95%) : Gov. Walz’ legislative score is impacted by signing legislation giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, making it easier for individuals to join a permanent absentee ballot list and for making Minnesota a sanctuary state for child sex change surgeries and abortionists. Walz executive action includes establishing a DEI council as his very first executive order and allowing legal liability against child counselors if they do not “affirm” a child’s chosen gender identity. Gov. Walz fiscal score is influenced by growing the state budget by 42% since taking office. CPAC Foundation’s Ratings of the Governors is designed to consider the full scope of a governors’ record. • Colorado Election Analysis from former Congressman Bob Beauprez

Colorado Election Analysis from former Congressman Bob Beauprez Colorado Election Analysis from former Congressman Bob Beauprez Politically astute observers know that Colorado has been tough territory for conservatives the last few election cycles, but like the rest of America, there is optimism for that Red Wave to yield some good results in the Mile High state on November 8. As Politico recently highlighted in a lengthy feature, GOP Senate candidate Joe O’Dea is running a near perfect campaign and giving the 14-year incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet one heck of a fight. Politico – which is notoriously a left leaning publication – has concluded that O’Dea may be the big surprise winner three weeks from now. Colorado gained an 8th Congressional District this cycle thanks to the 2020 census, and current State Senator Barb Kirkmeyer is heading to victory. Kirkmeyer is a Colorado native with a dairy farming background and was also a former Weld County Commissioner. Weld County is makes up the greatest part of the new district. Real Clear Politics has the race as “ lean Republican ”, and Kirkmeyer looks ready to prove them right. Currently the Democrats hold all four statewide constitutional offices – Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, and Attorney General. For a change, this cycle the GOP primary voters nominated outstanding mainstream candidates in each race. Don’t be surprised when Republicans knock off current incumbents in two or three of those contests. The state legislature has also been in majority control of the Democrats, but the GOP looks to make gains there, too, and has a real shot at taking back the Senate majority. It’s quite telling that in spite of being in control of the executive branch and the legislature both at the federal and state level, all the Colorado Democrats seem to be able to talk about is abortion. Republicans are running on solid ideas to fix the massive problems – inflation, crime, the border crisis, education, etc. – that the Democrats’ policies have inflicted upon Colorado and the nation. • CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act

CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act Alexandria, VA — CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp released the following statement on the “Respect for Marriage Act” and in support of the Free Exercise Clause embedded in the First Amendment of our Nation’s Constitution. “The so-called “Respect for Marriage Act” does not simply codify the judicial activism of Obergefell v. Hodges . Rather, it is a trojan horse that will be used to decimate religious liberty. This legislation would force people of faith and religious-affiliated institutions to violate their sincerely-held beliefs. Those individuals who choose to adhere to tenets of their faith and moral convictions would face costly litigation. And for religious-affiliated institutions, the legislation would empower President Biden’s politicized IRS to threaten their tax-exempt status. These are not theoretical issues. Woke warriors across the country have used the administrative state and the courts to force churches , cake bakers , florists and others to participate in ceremonies that are antithetical to their religious beliefs. This must stop. “This legislation will cause religious schools and faith-based nonprofits to make an impossible decision, violate their moral convictions, or close. CPAC strongly supports the Free Exercise Clause embedded in the First Amendment of our Nation’s Constitution. In a highly polarized country if we simply seek common ground on highly controversial cultural issues, we have to start with reaffirming constitution principals, the most basic of which is respect for religious freedoms. One of the many traumas America is going through is the modern misinterpretation of our history and the growing radicalization of the Democratic party. A party that used to be a home for religious immigrants and members of minority religions. Today’s Senate proceeding demonstrates how hostile the modern socialist Democrat party has become to those who wish to live their lives according to their strongly held religious views. This hostility will continue to push immigrants, people of color and faithful Americans away from the democratic party.” ### NEWS & RELEASES . • Matt Schlapp Statement on Trump Verdict

Matt Schlapp Statement on Trump Verdict Matt Schlapp Statement on Trump Verdict Today is a tragic day in American history. From the outset, the mission of the radical Left been clear: prevent President Donald J. Trump from running for President by any means necessary. After failed impeachment attempts, the Left has finally succeeded, but in a different way than they intended. Instead of diminishing the leading candidate for President, they have instead undermined the rule of law and our republic. Since the initiation of these baseless and biased trials, the American people have recognized them for what they truly are—shameless attempts to dismantle a political adversary for his unwavering commitment to our country. The Left's actions throughout this trial, along with those stalled in the courts, have only served to galvanize support for President Trump. As we enter the final five months of the Presidential campaign, we know this won't be the Left's last effort to bring down President Trump. They know that they cannot defeat him at the ballot box, so they will resort to any means necessary, lawful, or otherwise, to prevent him from taking the Oath of Office. Make no mistake, their lawfare will backfire. No matter what dastardly deed they come up with, President Donald J. Trump will return to the White House. NEWS & RELEASES . CPAC CALLS FOR FULL PRESIDENTIAL PROTECTIVE DETAIL FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP AND FOR THE RESIGNATION OF ACTING SECRET SERVICE DIRECTOR RONALD ROWE: CPAC CALLS FOR FULL PRESIDENTIAL PROTECTIVE DETAIL FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP AND FOR THE RESIGNATION OF ACTING SECRET SERVICE DIRECTOR RONALD ROWE: It is unconscionable for the Biden-Harris administration and Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe to continue to deny President Donald J. Trump a full protective detail. Since the catastrophic security failures during the failed assassination attempt on President Trump’s life on July 13th, the American people have not been provided with clear answers or accountability from Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe. Yesterday, America was once again moments away from tragedy as another would-be assassin was able to get into position with a rifle at a distance capable of making an attempt on President Trump’s life. The American people deserve to know why the Biden-Harris administration and Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe continue to put the life of President Trump at risk by failing to provide him the same security levels afforded to President Joe Biden.
