- CASM Statement on Senate Democrats’ Recent Drug Price Setting Agreement
CASM Statement on Senate Democrats’ Recent Drug Price Setting Agreement CASM Statement on Senate Democrats’ Recent Drug Price Setting Agreement ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 7, 2022 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative and free-market groups such as the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, has issued the following statement on Senate Democrats’ latest drug price setting agreement, attributable to CASM’s Executive Director Jack Kalavritinos. “This latest drug pricing deal is nothing more than a desperate attempt by Democrats to resurrect the same far-left, socialist-style price-setting schemes they have tried to jam down the throats of America patients many times before to appease their AOC-Sanders-Pelosi-supporting base ahead of the midterm elections. “Despite what left-wing politicians want you to think, price controls would have devastating impacts on patient access and innovation. And in fact, under this far-left plan, so-called ‘savings’ would go not to patients, but instead be usurped by politicians to pay for their unrelated pet big-government entitlement programs. “CASM and its members strongly condemn this radical proposal which would ultimately mean less access and fewer treatments and cures for America’s patients — but more taxpayer dollars in the bureaucrats’ slush fund.” ### Learn more about CASM by visiting: https://nosocializedmedicine.org . - Matt Schlapp in Fox News: Raid on Trump’s home means US now a third world country
Matt Schlapp in Fox News: Raid on Trump’s home means US now a third world country Matt Schlapp in Fox News: Raid on Trump’s home means US now a third world country In a new column for FoxNews.com , CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp talks about how the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home is a wake up call. The woke, socialist Left will stop at nothing to destroy our nation, but after gathering with thousands of patriots at CPAC in Dallas this past weekend, I’m confident that freedom will prevail, and we will save America. It’s certainly hard to be optimistic when the challenges we face are so drastic. The CPAC straw poll showed that 91 percent of CPAC Texas attendees believe the greatest threat to America is “internal forces such as the Deep State, public education and the mainstream media.” Just eight percent responded that “external forces such as Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea” are our greatest threat. And that’s understandable. We are witnessing the disintegration of the Left’s coalition in America. But as it breaks it is lurching more aggressively. It’s time for each American to stand for each other and rid this nation of this socialist reign of terror. President Biden’s politicized FBI just raided President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago. This nation is becoming unrecognizable. Biden has successfully transformed America into a third-world country. Read more on FoxNews.com NEWS & RELEASES . - “The battle lines are settled” – Statement from ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp on Joe Biden’s running mate
“The battle lines are settled” – Statement from ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp on Joe Biden’s running mate “The battle lines are settled” – Statement from ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp on Joe Biden’s running mate Alexandria, Va. — Shortly after former Vice President Joe Biden announced California Kamala Harris as his running mate, who earned ZERO delegates from Democrat voters during her own failed candidacy, ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp noted how it further signaled Biden’s commitment to the radical socialist takeover of the Democrat Party: “California Kamala will be a tough sell in purple America. She has embraced and advocated for every wacky, destructive policy proposed by the far Left. If Joe Biden is an empty vessel of the Left, Kamala Harris is the fount of bad policies that are destructive to Americans’ day-to-day lives.” “A Biden/Harris administration would do to America what’s already happened to California. We cannot stand by and let the freedoms that made America great be destroyed.” “The battle lines are settled: It’s America v Socialism. Game on.” ### Share: Twitter NEWS & RELEASES . - Statement from Matt and Mercedes Schlapp
Statement from Matt and Mercedes Schlapp Statement from Matt and Mercedes Schlapp From the beginning, we asserted our innocence. Our family was attacked by a left-wing media that is focused on the destruction of conservatives regardless of the truth and the facts. But we emerge from this ordeal stronger as husband and wife, stronger as parents to our five daughters, stronger as friends to those who stood by us. Our faith in God sustained us. Our understanding of what is truly important in life – our faith in God and loving our family and friends – has been brought into sharp focus as never before. We also learned that the left is waging a relentless war against those of us who still hold fast to the principles of America’s founding and the liberty that has endured throughout our 248-year history. The left no longer leaves disagreements on the political battlefield. Increasingly, they have gained a stranglehold on the mainstream media, social media and the legal system which they use to try to silence, shame and bankrupt Americans who have contrary, yet correct viewpoints. Going forward, our eyes are wide open, we understand the struggle better and we learned we must stand our ground and fight or else the haters on the left will destroy every conservative and ultimately our nation. CPAC and ACU Release New Tool to Pressure Lawmakers to Vote More Conservatively CPAC and ACU Release New Tool to Pressure Lawmakers to Vote More Conservatively Alexandria, VA – The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), has just released the 50th Edition of its annual Ratings of Congress . In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the scorecard, ACUF has released a comprehensive new platform to help better hold lawmakers accountable to conservative principles. The system breaks down voting records and will be used to help determine speaking invitations to the annual CPAC conference . The system demonstrates which lawmakers vote more conservatively than others, and even allows users to compare Members of Congress with state lawmakers. For example, Liz Cheney (74% rating) scores more liberally across 186 policy areas than her challengers, Wyoming state lawmakers Anthony Bouchard (90% rating) and Chuck Gray (94% rating). Platform Highlights: • Search the historical voting records of 15,000 lawmakers in Congress and the states • Run head-to-head comparisons of lawmakers utilizing 1.4 million votes • View 14,500 bills in all 50 state legislatures and 50 years of Congress This year, CPAC and ACUF will present awards to 122 of the 535 Members of Congress. The awards are presented to lawmakers who score 80% or better and are used to help voters and activists identify who is best at upholding conservative principles and who to rally behind. To produce this year’s scorecard, the ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability analyzed every vote taken last session and selected a wide-array of issues relating to fiscal, tax, regulatory, education, environment, Second Amendment rights, election security, life, and government integrity.
