CPAC sends letter in support of SB 781 to Missouri senators CPAC sends letter in support of SB 781 to Missouri senators The Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) sent the following letter to Missouri senators in support of SB 781, legislation which protects the integrity of women’s sports. Dear State Senator: Across the country we have seen the radical gender politics of the Woke Left infiltrate all facets of our lives. We at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) have been pushing for legislation throughout the country which protects the integrity of women’s sports. Failure to pass such legislation has severe consequences, including taking away roster spots, records, and future scholarships from young women. It also sends a message to our adversaries that enough political pressure by their henchmen can turn the whole country into their woke nightmare. Fourteen states have already passed laws aimed at combating the woke gender policies damaging women’s sports. Americans everywhere are tired of organizations like the NCAA pushing their left-wing agenda against the will of the people. As such, we view SB 781 as common-sense legislation meant to protect opportunities for women. Accordingly, CPAC strongly supports SB 781 . We have recommended to our colleagues at the American Conservative Union Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability (Ratings) that they score legislation protecting women’s sports positively in their 2022 ratings. Thank you for your service in the legislature. – Conservative Political Action Coalition Take Action Tell your senators to save women’s sports! Sign our petition here . NEWS & RELEASES . - ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Delaware General Assembly
ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Delaware General Assembly ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Delaware General Assembly Delaware’s Coalition of Radical Left Adds More State Lawmakers Alexandria, VA— Delaware is home to five more members of the Coalition of the Radical Left , as seven lawmakers earned conservative scores of 10% or below, up from just two lawmakers in the previous session. Only one lawmaker, Rep. Richard Collins, qualified as a conservative, according to the just-released ratings of the 2019 session published by The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). The state’s overall conservative score fell nearly five points (from 37.17% to 32.46%) while lawmakers of both parties turned in scores for 2019 below their lifetime averages (4.55% average decline). This new leftward trend follows the election of three representatives who replaced more moderate Democrats, either by primary challenge or retirement. In each instance, the incoming freshman earned a more liberal score than their predecessor by 8 points or more. “Delaware is encountering dangerous territory as more state lawmakers have demonstrated they are susceptible to socialist ideas that erode our constitutional principles,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “In 2019 alone, the socialist policies enacted by once-moderate Democrats have resulted in higher health insurance costs, weakened election integrity and a loss of individual liberties. Things have gotten so bad in the General Assembly that one might wonder if Joe Biden had left his basement to lead the Democratic Caucus.” ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). These ratings are designed to reflect how over 8,000 elected officials across the nation view the role of government while illustrating the differences between chambers of the legislature and revealing lawmakers’ positions on a wide variety of issues that directly affect citizens. ACU Foundation reviewed each piece of legislation voted on in both chambers of the legislature to produce average scores of each chamber as well as individual scores for each sitting member. - CPAC Releases Utah Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Mixed Bag of Bills from the Beehive State.
CPAC Releases Utah Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Mixed Bag of Bills from the Beehive State. CPAC Releases Utah Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Mixed Bag of Bills from the Beehive State. ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 1, 2023) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals that, though Republican lawmakers stood up to the Leftist cultural agenda in Utah, these legislators still missed many opportunities to promote conservative fiscal policies by voting for various bills that misuse taxpayer funds, resulting in a mixed 2022 session. “Utah elects significantly more republicans than other states yet fails to pass significant conservative policies like that of Florida, Tennessee, and Texas,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Led by a disappointing Governor in Spencer Cox, the legislature was forced to battle with him to pass protections for girls sports and end the Governor’s overreaching policies instituted during the Chinese coronavirus.” Several Utah state legislators are recognized by CPAC for their conservative voting records based on a just-released analysis from CPAC Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability. The following members of the Utah State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time: Senate: Daniel McCay (89%) John D. Johnson (85%) Ronald Winterton (82%) Don L. Ipson (80%) House: Kera Birkeland (89%) Kay J. Christofferson (86%) A. Cory Maloy (86%) Mike J. Petersen (86%) Ryan D. Wilcox (86%) Travis A. Seegmiller (85%) Jordan D. Teuscher (85%) Keven J. Stratton (85%) Mark A. Strong (85%) Rex P. Shipp (83%) Ken Ivory (82%) Karianne Lisonbee (82%) Candace B. Pierucci (82%) Adam Robertson (82%) Jefferson Moss (81%) Nelson T. Abbott (80%) Calvin R. Musselman (80%) Val L. Peterson (80%) The bills scored in CPAC’s 2022 Ratings of Utah addressed protections against men competing in women’s sports, Second Amendment rights, school curriculum, election integrity, tax reductions, and tax mechanisms that prop up government-favored products and industries. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and uphold the American family, created the basis by which CPAC Foundation rated Utah legislators. The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA) , an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area. ### Contact: comms@conservative.org (202)-347-9388 NEWS & RELEASES . - Coalition Letter to North Carolina: Pass Tax Cuts Without Special Interest Giveaways
Coalition Letter to North Carolina: Pass Tax Cuts Without Special Interest Giveaways Coalition Letter to North Carolina: Pass Tax Cuts Without Special Interest Giveaways Members of the North Carolina General Assembly North Carolina Legislative Building 16 W Jones St, Raleigh, NC 27601 Dear Members: As Cutting taxes of hard-working Americans and businesses is always the right thing to do. At a time when the Biden administration has handcuffed our economy with out-of-control interest rates and spending, states are searching for new sources of revenue to pay the bills. But conservative legislators must stand strong and demand that any new revenue streams come with the understanding of how those changes will impact the people of their communities. The Pelosi doctrine of passing a bill to see what's in it should never be the standard of our elected officials. Just recently, the North Carolina legislature legalized online sports betting in the state, which will take effect in early 2024. This expansion of gaming came after years of deliberation with hearings and input from the community. Now, the legislature is looking to expand gaming again by adding new casinos and video lottery terminals with no understanding of how the most recent expansion of gambling has affected the people of North Carolina. The draft legislation would permit wagering in locations specifically chosen by lobbyists who wrote the bill in the back rooms of Raleigh. The language also severely limits who can operate a casino - not surprisingly, only those companies who have paid the lobbyists to sneak expanded gambling into a massive budget bill would get a license. And that license would be for thirty years! President Trump has long talked about "the Swamp" and those who make government work for special interests rather than for the People. It now looks like the Swamp has come to Raleigh. The budget bill is the result of backroom dealings where only select special interest groups had the privilege of negotiating. If North Carolina is to expand gaming, it should do it outside the budget negotiation, and not subject the state to a lobbyist-created monopoly. We are strongly against haphazardly promoting new streams of revenue that could adversely affect North Carolina voters, especially those in poorer communities where these casinos and video lottery terminals are being proposed without the proper risk assessment. Finally, we object to the lobbyists holding tax cuts hostage to gambling expansion. Conservatives understand that we can cut taxes without raising revenue elsewhere. Give the people back their money, allow them to spend it, and watch your economy grow. If the governor and the legislature want to add new gaming in the future, they must have hearings, allow for expert and community input, and come to a decision that benefits the many, not just lines the pockets of a few. - CPAC Mexico inspires conservatives, draws hate from socialists
CPAC Mexico inspires conservatives, draws hate from socialists CPAC Mexico inspires conservatives, draws hate from socialists In his morning conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), spoke about the meeting of international far-right figures, which will take place on November 18 and 19 and will take place in Mexico City. The Conservative Action Political Conference (CPAC) is an annual event that has already sparked controversy over the figures that will serve as exhibitors, but according to the federal leader it does not harm his administration and would even be useful to expose conservative thought. “It does not harm us at all, I would say that on the contrary, it helps us in this plan that we have to inform, guide how conservatives think, how they are racist, how they are class-minded, how they discriminate, how they are very corrupt , how they have no scruples of any kind, how they are very supporters of violence,” he said in La Mañanera this Wednesday. However, according to the shared data, the tickets for said meeting are already sold out, for which the attendees had to pay 1,200 pesos for access to conferences and work sessions. In addition to platinum tickets, which for 20,000 pesos guarantee direct interaction with the exhibitors. To complete the list of figures such as far-right stars, Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of the outgoing president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, will be another of the exhibitors, a deputy who has been criticized more than once among them for uploading a video to their networks criticizing the Argentine economic situation. And on the other hand Steve Bannon, the former strategist of former President Donald Trump, who will travel to Mexico at a time when he is appealing the four months in prison he was sentenced to in the United States for contempt of Congress, by refusing to appear during the hearings on the assault on the Capitol. “If all these characters come, they have all the freedoms that are guaranteed in Mexico to meet, to demonstrate, to express themselves,” added the president about this organization. He mentioned that authoritarian behavior should be discussed and exposed, noting that otherwise “it’s like putting garbage under the rug or under the mat.” Full article on La Política Online https://youtu.be/Yj4oThrg6oo NEWS & RELEASES . - The Hill: Op-Ed by ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp
The Hill: Op-Ed by ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp The Hill: Op-Ed by ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp Biden’s Leadership is Threatened by His Loyalty to the Hard Left As President Biden begins his post-100-days agenda, his biggest challenge is that despite good topline poll numbers, many of his major policies are substantially unpopular. Biden is shortening his honeymoon not because of personal unpopularity but due to an unusual fidelity to the most destructive and unsavory policies emanating from the base of his party, which is smitten with Americanized socialism. Presidents know they need to stay near or above the 50 percent approval threshold to have a shot at reelection. Although the Gallup poll has been consistently inaccurate on presidential numbers in recent years, it has a long record of presidential approvals. Since 1980, only George W. Bush was reelected below 50 percent approval , but his final number before the election was 48 percent. No one below his number, including his father and President Trump , was sworn in for a second term. Trump’s approvals were notoriously hard to poll, as many of his supporters refused to engage pollsters due to repercussions of being for “MAGA.” Both the approvals of Presidents Obama and Biden were often graded on the curve, due to the near-universal embrace by media, Hollywood and now, tragically, the woke capitalism of mostly white C-suites and CEOs. - CPAC Releases Wisconsin Legislative Scorecard, Revealing Conservative Legislation Defeated by Socialist Democrat Governor Tony Evers.
CPAC Releases Wisconsin Legislative Scorecard, Revealing Conservative Legislation Defeated by Socialist Democrat Governor Tony Evers. CPAC Releases Wisconsin Legislative Scorecard, Revealing Conservative Legislation Defeated by Socialist Democrat Governor Tony Evers. ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 7, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals Wisconsin’s Republican and Democrat legislators both tend to vote in lockstep with their fellow party members on the vast majority of the bills voted on during the past session. Additionally, most of the deviations from this score occurred merely as a result of some legislators being absent for particular votes. SEE SCORECARD HERE “Wisconsin’s socialist Governor Tony Evers thwarted the strong efforts of Wisconsin’s GOP-controlled legislature last session.” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Gov. Evers vetoed restrictions on ballot harvesting, important welfare reform, and even a bill which protected minors from radical gender surgeries.” CPAC recognizes several Wisconsin state legislators for their conservative voting records. Members that earned an Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position 90% or more of the time can be found highlighted in gold on the scorecard. Members that earned an Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position 80% or more of the time can be found highlighted in silver on the scorecard. The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Wisconsin address election security, school choice, and the ‘green’ energy agenda. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and uphold the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Wisconsin legislature. - Removed: Video of Former President Donald J. Trump’s Major Class Action Against Big Tech
Removed: Video of Former President Donald J. Trump’s Major Class Action Against Big Tech Removed: Video of Former President Donald J. Trump’s Major Class Action Against Big Tech Removed: Video of Former President Donald J. Trump’s Major Class Action Against Big Tech Dallas, TX: The American Conservative Union (ACU) has learned that a recent episode of its “America UnCanceled” program on the CPAC NOW network has been removed by YouTube. The episode featured coverage of former President Donald Trump’s major class-action lawsuit against Big Tech, led by America First Policy Institute. ACU is a plaintiff to the lawsuit. “It is clear that YouTube censored CPAC because we stood with former President Donald Trump on his lawsuit against Big Tech,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “This is yet another example of Big Tech censoring content with which they disagree in order to promote the political positions they favor.” YouTube issued a strike against ACU’s YouTube account on July 9th and banned the organization from posting for one week. As a result, YouTube has prevented ACU from sharing content from CPAC 2021 Part 2 in Dallas, Texas, including former President Donald Trump’s speech on Sunday, July 11. In an email to ACU, YouTube cited “medical misinformation” concerning COVID-19 as the reason for removing the America UnCanceled episode. YouTube did not specify any statements made in the video that allegedly violated their policies. ACU believes YouTube was offended by sound medical research conducted by the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases & Urban Health and Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Former President Donald Trump referenced the study in the video that YouTube removed, saying, “doctors and medical groups have been barred from these platforms for posting about therapeutics such as hydroxychloroquine…now, most recent studies say [the drug is] effective in combating the virus.” Clearly, Google’s political biases heavily influence YouTube’s definitions of “misinformation” and that the political beliefs of Google executives take priority over the free speech rights of Google users. ### NEWS & RELEASES .
