  • CPAC urges South Carolina’s Senate to protect life

CPAC urges South Carolina’s Senate to protect life CPAC urges South Carolina’s Senate to protect life The Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) sent the following letter to South Carolina’s Senate in support of H. 5399 to ensure pro-life policies remain in the state. Dear Senator [LAST]: We at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) have been pushing for legislation throughout the country which protects life. After activist judges on South Carolina’s Supreme Court blocked the “fetal heartbeat” protection bill this summer, the legislature must act to ensure pro-life policies remain in South Carolina. As such we view H. 5399 as a strong remedy. The bill would ensure South Carolina is on par with other conservative states in the region like Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Georgia in restricting the gruesome practice. This legislation goes along with CPAC’s fight against companies like Walmart, who have decided to prioritize the policies of the woke left. Conservatives can no longer tolerate the leftist policy agenda of these companies – particularly when it facilitates the harming of innocent human life. Accordingly, CPAC strongly supports H. 5399. We have recommended to our colleagues at the American Conservative Union Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability (Ratings) that they score legislation protecting life positively in their 2022 ratings. Thank you for your service in the legislature. – Conservative Political Action Coalition Take Action Urge your senators to protect life in South Carolina! Sign our petition here . NEWS & RELEASES . • Matt Schlapp’s Fox News op-ed: Ohio Midterms Prove the Old GOP Has Been Transformed

Matt Schlapp’s Fox News op-ed: Ohio Midterms Prove the Old GOP Has Been Transformed Matt Schlapp’s Fox News op-ed: Ohio Midterms Prove the Old GOP Has Been Transformed The victory of JD Vance in the raucous Ohio GOP senate primary sets the tone for a midterm success that will include a larger number of unique, independent and successful candidates who will win their races due to their own abilities and association with Donald Trump, and not because of their fealty to Washington, Republicans or the support from major corporations. In fact, a growing number of these successful candidates ran against the traditional national powers. When they come to the Capitol they will comprise the first Republican majority wholly independent of the normal elite power structures. This could be the most exciting aspect of this year’s Big Red Wave — victorious candidates who are healthy from giving up the junk food of corporate PAC checks and the largess of most of the big money players who usually finance establishment Republican victories and the resulting carefully constructed caution that always follows. Corporate America has bet on the Democratic Party before, but that former Democratic Party was never this extreme nor opposed to basic pro-business policies. Many of these companies broke with Republican politicians over GOP insistence on voter I.D. These companies have accepted the left wing orthodoxy that photo I.D.s are racist and so they also lavish financial support to BLM umbrella groups that foment racial discord. CPAC Urges Override of Gov. Andy Beshear’s Vetoes CPAC Urges Override of Gov. Andy Beshear’s Vetoes The Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) sent the following letter urging representatives to override of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s vetoes. Dear State Representative : This session, so-called “moderate” Gov. Andy Beshear has been decidedly against conservative reforms offered by the legislature. Over the next few days, you can fight back against Gov. Beshear’s vetoes. We at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) view this week as a prime opportunity to send a message to the voters that Gov. Beshear’s California-esque policies are not in line with Kentucky values. In that regard, we encourage you to override the following vetoes: SB 1: Bans Marxist Critical Race Theory in Schools HB 3: Strong Pro-Life Protections HB 9: Empowering Parents through School Choice SB 83: The Save Women’s Sports Act SB 213: Enhanced Election Security Accordingly, CPAC strongly supports these bills and urges you to override the vetoes . • CPAC Statement on the Georgia Indictment of President Donald J. Trump.

CPAC Statement on the Georgia Indictment of President Donald J. Trump. CPAC Statement on the Georgia Indictment of President Donald J. Trump. My father-in-law was arrested and thrown into jail for standing up against the authoritarian regime in Cuba. He came to America knowing that our nation stands for freedom and justice. What we are witnessing in America is the assault on our free republic by a Democrat party adopting the tactics of Mao, Marx, Stalin, Che, and the tinpot-dictator-for-life Fidel Castro. In real time, left-wing prosecutors are targeting political opponents, engaging in election interference, and using collaborators in the media to warp public opinion. The radical Left, woke prosecutors, and their partners in the Biden administration are determined to destroy President Donald Trump and his allies. On behalf of my father-in-law -- the toughest Freedom Fighter I know -- I want President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Merrick Garland, Fani Willis, Alvin Bragg, and Jack Smith to know that we will not allow you to destroy America due to your hatred of Donald Trump. We will fight this lawfare at every step. And we will not be afraid to speak out, even when they come for us. We will help fund the lawyers it takes to defend the innocent, and when those lawyers are canceled, we will find new ones. We will raise our kids to be ready for this fight for when we have been destroyed, imprisoned, or wiped-out. We will never relent, and we will never give up on America. We pray that you will turn back and realize your attempt to stage a coup through the courts and through fake ballots must stop. But if you do not stop, we will rise up and we will re-elect President Donald J. Trump – and this time -- we will fully understand the nature of your corruption and the names of those who bankroll it. • CPAC Releases Washington Legislative Scorecard, Further Illustrating Leftism’s Hold Over America’s Pacific Northwest

CPAC Releases Washington Legislative Scorecard, Further Illustrating Leftism’s Hold Over America’s Pacific Northwest CPAC Releases Washington Legislative Scorecard, Further Illustrating Leftism’s Hold Over America’s Pacific Northwest ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 1, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals the presence of extraordinary Leftism in Washington state’s legislature. Washington Democrats scored an average of 1% in both legislatures and managed to pass many of the key issues on their agenda. SEE SCORECARD HERE “Washington’s war on parental rights, businesses, and Second Amendment freedoms is shocking and a terrible reminder of the cost of the Left's mission to make corrupt mass mail-in voting the norm,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “The bills coming out of Washington should worry and disturb people interested in human freedom and dignity.” CPAC recognizes several lawmakers in the Washington State Legislature for earning CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. Senate: Perry Dozier (89%) Jim McCune (89%) Mark Schoesler (89%) Shelly Short (89%) Keith Wagoner (89%) Lynda Wilson (89%) Matt Boehnke (89%) Mike Padden (89%) John Braun (84%) House: Jim Walsh (85%) Chris Corry (80%) Mary Dye (80%) Joel McEntire (80%) Ed Orcutt (80%) Joe Schmick (80%) The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Washington weaken parental rights, undermine Second Amendment freedoms, and increased the size of the welfare state. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Washington legislature. The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area. • Wisconsin Supreme Court

Wisconsin Supreme Court Wisconsin Supreme Court The stakes in Wisconsin could not be higher. On April 1st, Wisconsinites will go to the polls to determine the balance of the State Supreme Court. The choice is clear, Judge Brad Schmiel has the experience needed to join the court during a crucial period for the state. During his time as State Attorney General, Judge Schimel stood up for election integrity, law enforcement, and the rule of law and fought to end the scourge of Human Trafficking. In 2024, the people of Wisconsin voted for President Donald J. Trump for President. The Wisconsin Supreme Court attempted to thwart the will of the people by allowing illicit voting practices while pocketing money from Mark Zuckerberg. CPAC believes in the rule of law. The people of Wisconsin deserve a justice on the bench who will fight for the needs of the individual, not one who will bend the knee to George Soros and other liberal Mega Donors. One week from today voters will go to the polls to determine the future of law and order in the state. CPAC encourages the people of the great state of Wisconsin to support Judge Brad Schimel in his quest to serve as a Justice on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. NEWS & RELEASES . • ACU Calls on Delta Airlines, Inc. to Correct Their Inaccurate Description of Georgia’s Voter ID law

ACU Calls on Delta Airlines, Inc. to Correct Their Inaccurate Description of Georgia’s Voter ID law ACU Calls on Delta Airlines, Inc. to Correct Their Inaccurate Description of Georgia’s Voter ID law Mr. Edward Bastian Chief Executive Officer, Delta Air Lines Inc. Delta Air Lines Inc. P.O. Box 20706 Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport Atlanta, GA 30320-6001 Dear Mr. Bastian, As one of the nation’s largest airlines, Delta touches the lives of hundreds of millions of people throughout the freedom-loving world. Many of these are Americans who value free enterprise, common sense and fairness. Overseas, they are advocates for democracy who look to the United States for guidance as they strive to replicate our ability to respect individual sovereignty and liberty. On behalf of all these people, the American Conservative Union (ACU) urges you to correct your misleading and damaging statements about the Georgia voting law, SB 202, and we ask for a meeting to discuss our concerns with your embrace of unAmerican political forces. In the past, Delta has needed the support of conservative organizations, like ACU, to pursue sound policies that sustain Delta’s business. When your interests align with conservative values, we have been able to work together. For example, many conservative groups helped Delta with the Open Skies Agreement, the overreach of the Export-Import Bank, and other and various tax issues and foreign subsidies that put your airline at a competitive disadvantage. You have needed help from everyday Americans, and we have helped rally them. But recently you have turned your back on conservatives on the issue of state election laws to score points with radical Leftists, all while claiming to be non-partisan. The conflicting statements you made about Georgia’s new voting reform—a reform bill in which Delta “engaged extensively with state elected officials in both parties”—are completely unacceptable to fair-minded people who genuinely seek a transparent and secure election process. Your first public statement acknowledged that the new bill “expands weekend voting, codifies Sunday voting and protects a voter’s ability to cast an absentee ballot without providing a reason. For the first time, drop boxes have also been authorized for all counties statewide and poll workers will be allowed to work across county lines.” Five days later, you took a 180° turn and issued another statement that not only undermined your own credibility, but also attacked the many employees and customers of Delta who have already suffered the consequences of two flawed Georgia elections. You have added to harmful divisions in this country when you falsely claimed that the voting reform discriminates against Black voters, and that the rationale behind this reform is based on a lie. Your implication that there was no widespread voter fraud in Georgia in the 2020 election is in direct conflict with reality. There were suitcases of ballots under tables, an unlawful consent decree, and illegal and unsecured drop boxes, just to name a few problems. You literally accused at least half of your employees and customers of being liars and racists when all they want is to ensure honest elections and to follow basic verification protocols that Delta follows for matters like visits to your offices, boarding planes, or participating in a shareholder meeting. Unless you correct your recent statements and reverse course, it will be clear that you are turning your back on hard-working Americans to curry favor with the current Democratic leadership that sits in Washington today and seeks to destroy America with virtually every illogical proposition it puts forth. We may understand this political calculus, but we do not forgive it. And neither will your employees and customers who supported Republican candidates in 2020 and will do so again in 2022, likely in even larger numbers. ACU has always stood for equal dignity and respect of every individual regardless of their race or gender. We have always defended the United States Constitution, the greatest document ever created to establish government and provide the foundation for a strong economy. Without the freedoms that are protected in America, Delta might never even have come into being. We formally request a meeting with you, ask that you correct your latest statement, and ask that you return to the business of running a first-class airline. If you cannot afford us the same respect you show to radical Left groups, we will have to conclude that you and Delta no longer wish to constructively work with your employees and customers who support free and fair elections. –The American Conservative Union NEWS & RELEASES . • ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Vermont General Assembly

ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Vermont General Assembly ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Vermont General Assembly The Vermont General Assembly saw a significant increase in the number of conservatives in the House of Representatives — from only 3 the previous year to 23, according to the American Conservative Union Foundation’s most recent annual ratings of state legislatures. The American Conservative Union Foundation conducts an annual, in-depth analysis to rate all 8,000 lawmakers in America, revealing their positions on a wide variety of issues directly affecting our communities and families. None of the state senators qualified as conservative, and the general assembly continued to push a far-left agenda. Chief among those liberal agenda items were: undermining police officers in the state by exposing law enforcement officers to unreasonable criminal liabilities, increasing utility costs for residents of the state by further subsidizing “green” energy projects, and making a mockery of fair and secure elections by implementing a full-scale vote-by-mail program. Both chambers also defeated amendments to create penalties for ballot harvesting, further eroding confidence in the election system. Many in the House of Representatives showed their truly partisan nature by employing their official powers to pass a resolution attacking President Donald Trump’s use of social media. Check out the press release below with more details and please take action ! It only takes three minutes to let your legislators know that their score from the American Conservative Union Foundation is important to you, and you expect them to support more conservative policies. Mary Morrissey (91%). “Our new ACU Ratings website offers an accessible and dynamic way for voters across the country to discover whether their lawmakers use their power to advance conservative principles,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Over our 50-year history, we’ve compiled 15,000 lawmakers in our database and scored them across 186 different policy areas. For the first time, voters have access to a huge breadth of information that offers a distinct impression of the way lawmakers view the role of government in a person’s life.” ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). CPAC Releases Connecticut Legislative Scorecard, Revealing the Infectiousness of the Leftist Influenza. CPAC Releases Connecticut Legislative Scorecard, Revealing the Infectiousness of the Leftist Influenza. ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 13, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals an astonishingly progressive Republican caucus in the Nutmeg state. These legislators averaged about 57.5% across both chambers, voting with the conservative position just slightly more than half of the time. Meanwhile Democrat’s voted in lockstep to pass socialist policies. SEE SCORECARD HERE “Connecticut, like other states in the region, has declared war on the Second Amendment and turned the state into an abortion on demand up to the moment of birth sanctuary,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp . “Unfortunately for Republicans in the Northeast, gone are the days where sensible Democrat’s would at least pretend to hide their socialist tendencies.” The following members of the Connecticut State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session: Senate: Rob Sampson (100%) House: Anne Dauphinais (100%) Mark DeCaprio (100%) Gale Mastrofrancesco (100%) John Piscopo (100%) Doug Dubitsky (94%) Karen Reddington-Hughes (94%) Donna Veach (94%) Additionally, a few lawmakers in the Connecticut State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Connecticut address employment mandates, election security, and attacks on the Second Amendment. • ACU urges Delta Air Lines to retract the politically charged “Vax Tax”

ACU urges Delta Air Lines to retract the politically charged “Vax Tax” ACU urges Delta Air Lines to retract the politically charged “Vax Tax” Dear Mr. Bastian, On behalf of millions of Americans across the country, the American Conservative Union (ACU) urges you to retract Delta Air Line’s newest politically charged “Vax Tax” that will force employees to pay a burdensome $200 monthly penalty as long as they remain unvaccinated and forgo COVID-19 pay protection should they test positive for the virus. Given the CDC’s demographic data on the vaccinated population, this policy is undeniably discriminatory on itsface: Blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities receive the vaccine at lower rates than non-Hispanic whites. The discrimination will be even worse in your home state of Georgia where only 42% of the population is fully vaccinated, far below the 52% national level. And just in case you failed to notice, Blacks alone represent 1/3 of Georgia’s population. Notwithstanding Delta’s nominal policy to grow minority participation in your workforce, your proposed actions will adversely impact minority employees. You just announced that Delta would hire an additional 1500 flight attendants and 1200 pilots (over 90% of which are white), but the hiring would be conditional on full vaccination. Clearly, you do not intend to promote minority representation at Delta if you plan to limit employment opportunities to those who are fully vaccinated and more likely to be white. This new policy is in stark contrast with your own statements about providing more opportunities for Blacks to advance in your workforce. “[W]hen you understand and look at the fact that within our company, the jobs that our Black colleagues, our Black employees do, haven’t had the same pathways to advancement as other avenues. We have little over 20 percent of our employees are Black and only seven percent of our senior leadership is Black. Fifteen percent of our overall leadership is Black. Those numbers actually stack up pretty well, relative to a lot of Fortune 500 companies, in terms of total leadership levels, but it’s not nearly good enough.” At a time where our nation needs to heal from the horrendous pandemic that has set us back socially, economically, and racially, first-rate companies like yours should promote, not hinder, the American Dream. You should be leading the charge to encourage tolerance and help Americans become closer again. Your policy does the opposite, and if other woke CEOs decide to copy your actions, we are going to face a much longer, harder, and less complete recovery. But as it stands, you are succumbing to the dangerous policies of the far Left and compromising the fundamental rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Your position on COVID-19 is the latest cowardly move that Delta has made to curry favor with an administration that is driving our country into the ground. The American Conservative Union is committed to respecting the individual rights of Americans and preserving their freedoms. Our system of government and our economy are unique in the world and are models to help other nations and other peoples lift themselves out of poverty and into prosperity. These principles are timeless and affirming, and ought to be considered by Delta Air Lines as it charts its future. We urge you to refrain from taking an approach that would harm your employees, especially those of color. While COVID-19 remains an issue, it is critical that publicly held companies not use this opportunity to unnecessarily suppress the liberties of hard-working Americans.
