Economic Capitulation and Election Interference vs. America First “China’s going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” Biden says incredulously. “I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. They’re not competition for us,” he continued. The above assessment might’ve made sense when he began his political career in 1973, but the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee delivered those remarks last year. Joe Biden is dangerously out of touch with the current threat posed by today’s modern, powerful Chinese Communist Party. Then again, he has a habit of defaulting to long-outdated notions when he is under pressure. Is this extreme underestimation of our chief economic rival by default or by design? In an election threat update issued August 7, the National Counterintelligence and Security Center’s William Evanina warned that foreign actors including China, Russia, and Iran are engaging in overt and covert efforts to sway the 2020 U.S. elections. Of China, Evanina said, “We assess that China prefers that President Trump—whom Beijing sees as unpredictable—does not win reelection.” In other words, the CCP thinks its future is brighter in Biden’s America. Evanina specifically notes Beijing’s recognition that the CCP’s harsh criticism of the Administration’s actions and statements on Hong Kong, TikTok, the legal status of the South China Sea, and China’s efforts to dominate the 5G market could all affect the presidential race. Even the notoriously liberal Washington Post , the mouthpiece for America’s wealthiest man, concedes that Trump’s battering of China’s business sector has been crippling, most notably with high-tech companies like Huawei. The paper also notes that the Democratic Party’s platform rhetoric, while generally taking a “tough line” on China, is more accommodating than the Trump administration. When it comes to China, America requires a strong leader with equally strong follow-through. Joe Biden’s equivocation and quiet avoidance simply will not get the job done. NEWS & RELEASES . - CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act
CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp’s Statement on Respect for Marriage Act Alexandria, VA — CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp released the following statement on the “Respect for Marriage Act” and in support of the Free Exercise Clause embedded in the First Amendment of our Nation’s Constitution. “The so-called “Respect for Marriage Act” does not simply codify the judicial activism of Obergefell v. Hodges . Rather, it is a trojan horse that will be used to decimate religious liberty. This legislation would force people of faith and religious-affiliated institutions to violate their sincerely-held beliefs. Those individuals who choose to adhere to tenets of their faith and moral convictions would face costly litigation. And for religious-affiliated institutions, the legislation would empower President Biden’s politicized IRS to threaten their tax-exempt status. These are not theoretical issues. Woke warriors across the country have used the administrative state and the courts to force churches , cake bakers , florists and others to participate in ceremonies that are antithetical to their religious beliefs. This must stop. “This legislation will cause religious schools and faith-based nonprofits to make an impossible decision, violate their moral convictions, or close. CPAC strongly supports the Free Exercise Clause embedded in the First Amendment of our Nation’s Constitution. In a highly polarized country if we simply seek common ground on highly controversial cultural issues, we have to start with reaffirming constitution principals, the most basic of which is respect for religious freedoms. One of the many traumas America is going through is the modern misinterpretation of our history and the growing radicalization of the Democratic party. A party that used to be a home for religious immigrants and members of minority religions. Today’s Senate proceeding demonstrates how hostile the modern socialist Democrat party has become to those who wish to live their lives according to their strongly held religious views. This hostility will continue to push immigrants, people of color and faithful Americans away from the democratic party.” ### NEWS & RELEASES . ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Delaware General Assembly News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Delaware General Assembly Delaware’s Coalition of Radical Left Adds More State Lawmakers Alexandria, VA— Delaware is home to five more members of the Coalition of the Radical Left , as seven lawmakers earned conservative scores of 10% or below, up from just two lawmakers in the previous session. Only one lawmaker, Rep. Richard Collins, qualified as a conservative, according to the just-released ratings of the 2019 session published by The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). The state’s overall conservative score fell nearly five points (from 37.17% to 32.46%) while lawmakers of both parties turned in scores for 2019 below their lifetime averages (4.55% average decline). This new leftward trend follows the election of three representatives who replaced more moderate Democrats, either by primary challenge or retirement. In each instance, the incoming freshman earned a more liberal score than their predecessor by 8 points or more. “Delaware is encountering dangerous territory as more state lawmakers have demonstrated they are susceptible to socialist ideas that erode our constitutional principles,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “In 2019 alone, the socialist policies enacted by once-moderate Democrats have resulted in higher health insurance costs, weakened election integrity and a loss of individual liberties. Things have gotten so bad in the General Assembly that one might wonder if Joe Biden had left his basement to lead the Democratic Caucus.” ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). These ratings are designed to reflect how over 8,000 elected officials across the nation view the role of government while illustrating the differences between chambers of the legislature and revealing lawmakers’ positions on a wide variety of issues that directly affect citizens. ACU Foundation reviewed each piece of legislation voted on in both chambers of the legislature to produce average scores of each chamber as well as individual scores for each sitting member.
