ACU Foundation Releases Ratings of Massachusetts General Court Alexandria, VA — Lawmakers of the Massachusetts General Court are at greater philosophical odds than ever before. In the 2019 session, a larger share of lawmakers qualified as members of the “Coalition of the Radical Left” while conservatives improved their overall scores in a just-released legislative analysis published by the American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). In the previous session, Massachusetts lawmakers earned the distinction of the most liberal state legislature in the country and 69% of lawmakers qualified as members of the radical left. In the following 2019 session, a total of 152 of lawmakers—77% of the General Court—were labeled radical leftists. In contrast, the state’s Republicans improved their average score by 17 percentage points from 40% to 57%, contributing to the state’s overall improvement from 6.11% to 11.38%. “Despite the fact Massachusetts leads the country with the highest per capita debt in the country, leftists of the General Court doubled down on their demands for wasteful and unnecessary spending,” said ACUF Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Thankfully, conservatives of the legislature are starting to answer the call of working families who are sick and tired paying taxes hand over fist to advance ‘GreenWorks’ special interest giveaways and massive pay raises for ineffective politicians.” ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). These ratings are designed to reflect how over 8,000 elected officials across the nation view the role of government while illustrating the differences between chambers of the legislature and revealing lawmakers’ positions on a wide variety of issues that directly affect citizens. ACU Foundation reviewed each piece of legislation voted on in both chambers of the legislature to produce average scores of each chamber as well as individual scores for each sitting member. CPAC STATEMENT ON POLITICAL PROSECUTION OF STEVE BANNON News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. CPAC STATEMENT ON POLITICAL PROSECUTION OF STEVE BANNON From the beginning, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th committee was a sham. Pelosi directed her illegitimate Kangaroo Court committee to create a carefully scripted and biased narrative without representation from conservative Members of Congress. The Democrats joined by Adam Kinzinger (29% CPAC Rating) and Liz Cheney (54% CPAC Rating), drunk with power and vitriol, are now imprisoning conservatives for standing firm and not complying with their rigged system. First with the imprisonment of former White House advisor Peter Navarro, and now with Steve Bannon. Steve Bannon is someone who has battled against the Left and their lies. To silence him, an activist judge is now sending him to jail for standing up to their tyranny. CPAC stands with Steve Bannon and urges Congress to end this lawfare against conservative leaders. • Destroying union jobs

Destroying union jobs News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. Destroying union jobs The logjam has finally given way. Progress on the long-stalled Keystone XL pipeline—a project which will bring oil from Canada to the Gulf Coast of Texas—has finally resumed. On August 4, Calgary-based TC Energy signed agreements with four labor unions to start building the Alberta-to-Nebraska section. The project will reportedly create 42,000 U.S. jobs, 10,000 of which are in high-paying construction. According to Keystone XL, the project will inject $3.4 billion into the U.S. GDP and boost Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska’s local economies by $55 million in the first year of operation. On top of the boon for US jobs and GDP, the project will create a “multi-million dollar training program for [the] renewable energy sector” via establishing a unique “Green Jobs Training Program” for its union member workers. This should tick any decent politician’s boxes for a great project. Good for jobs Good for the economy Good for the environment But Joe Biden isn’t just any politician. Though he doesn’t call it the “Green New Deal,” Joe Biden’s policies mimic it. In a Joe Biden administration, there would be no Keystone XL pipeline, nor the jobs that go with it. In May, his campaign policy director promised that Biden would “ stop it for good by rescinding the Keystone XL pipeline permit .” Joe Biden talks a good game when it comes to creating millions of fictional energy jobs. But that’s all it is—talk. In reality, where it counts, his first act will be to please his radical, Left-wing puppeteers by destroying thousands of high-paying, climate-friendly Keystone XL union jobs. NEWS & RELEASES . Today, in two separate cases, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that university admission programs that use affirmative action and other race-based admission procedures are unconstitutional. Today, in two separate cases, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that university admission programs that use affirmative action and other race-based admission procedures are unconstitutional. Disguising racial discrimination under the name of affirmative action is a blatant violation of the Fourteenth Amendment and undermines the Equal Protection Clause of our Constitution. By a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court agreed. “Eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it,” wrote Chief Justice Roberts in the majority opinion. “Many universities have for too long wrongly concluded that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned, but the color of their skin. This Nation’s constitutional history does not tolerate that choice.” Today’s decision, in combination with Dobbs, serve as a triumphant return to restoring our tattered Constitution. President Trump deserves great credit for being the first Republican President in modern history to appoint Justices to the Supreme Court who regularly uphold our Constitution. These Justices have risked their own and their family’s personal safety to restore Constitutional merit against radical Leftists who want to use the Court to advance their woke agendas. While today’s decision is an important step, racial bias of all types must be eliminated from all institutions in our society, whether they go by the name of affirmative action or fall under the newest Leftist moniker of ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI). To do otherwise – no matter how well-intentioned -- simply fosters the ‘soft bigotry of low expectations.’ As Justice Thomas wrote in his concurrence, “The solution to our Nation’s racial problems thus cannot come from policies grounded in affirmative action or some other conception of equity. Racialism simply cannot be un- done by different or more racialism. Instead, the solution announced in the second founding is incorporated in our Constitution: that we are all equal, and should be treated equally before the law without regard to our race.” Since our founding in 1964, the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) has advanced the movement to protect human dignity, religious rights, and individual liberties. Affirmative action wrongfully reduces an individual to their skin color while ignoring the importance of character and merit. Through CPAC’s ‘gold standard’ Ratings of Congress and the States, we have continually scored unconstitutional racism under the guise of race-based preferences since the flawed Bakke decision. CPAC supports today’s decision and will continue our fight to ensure equal justice under the law for all Americans. NEWS & RELEASES . • New op-ed from Matt Schlapp: “The Power of President Trump’s Endorsement”

New op-ed from Matt Schlapp: “The Power of President Trump’s Endorsement” News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. New op-ed from Matt Schlapp: “The Power of President Trump’s Endorsement” CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp penned a new op-ed in RealClearPolitics on the renewed power of an endorsement — at least one from President Trump: An old campaign adage argued that political endorsements often aren’t worth the paper they are printed on, and until President Donald J. Trump, they were right. Now the most important political asset any Republican candidate could earn is the Trump endorsement, and how he’s using it will continue to reshape the Republican Party and freeze the 2024 field. We have all watched as past Republican presidents fade into obscurity after departing the Oval Office. In most cases, their departures from D.C. marked the conclusion of their political ambition after weathering the arrows of the White House press corps. In each case, except for Ronald Reagan, their endorsements are seldom sought and matter little… That’s why it came as little surprise when news broke late Thursday night that Congressman Anthony Gonzalez — one of the 10 GOP House members who voted to impeach President Trump — announced he would not seek reelection. He was being beaten badly in the polls by Max Miller, his Trump-endorsed challenger, and he recognized there was no viable path to victory. President Trump’s success and influence continues to defy the political norms of the corrupt political class and, in doing so, he has established an unprecedented level of political influence. So far in 2021, President Trump’s endorsement record in Republican elections is 10-0. Six of those victories were in competitive elections to lead the national and state Republican parties. American Conservative Union Strongly Opposes the Wasteful & Ineffective “Infrastructure and Jobs Act” The American Conservative Union stands strongly against the dubiously titled “Infrastructure and Jobs Act”, a 2,702-page bill that wastes trillions of dollars, blows out the deficit, and includes countless provisions that have nothing to do with investing in American infrastructure. Our nation’s infrastructure is in dire need of repair, yet Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and his leftist cronies have put forth legislation that leaves our roads and bridges to crumble while steering taxpayer resources to partisan special interests. Now is a time for honesty from our leadership and for all Senators to stand against this bill’s ridiculous allocation of government funding and flagrant disregard of how our government invests tax dollars. The American Conservative Union Foundation will be closely watching the Senate as this bill reaches its final vote and will be grading legislators accordingly for 2021’s ratings term. ### NEWS & RELEASES . ACU Launches Ad Campaign Urging President Biden to Reverse Course on WTO TRIPS Waiver Campaign to Focus on Biden Caving to Far Left Radicals by Undermining American Innovators The American Conservative Union (ACU) has launched an ad campaign condemning President Joe Biden’s support for the World Trade Organization (WTO) proposal that would waive intellectual property (IP) protections for COVID-19 treatments and vaccines. ACU’s ad highlighting how Biden has undermined American innovation by caving to the radical Left will run via cable, broadcast television, and digital. “The United States is responsible for the world’s most effective COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, all developed and distributed in record time,” said ACU Executive Vice President Dan Schneider. “This is because of the American patent system, which protects groundbreaking technologies and incentivizes innovators to pursue medical breakthroughs when we need them most. The Biden administration’s callous disregard for this precious IP, coupled with its gross misunderstanding of the market forces that drive these world-changing innovations, puts hard-earned American innovation in the hands of our enemies and opens the floodgates to counterfeit vaccines. Despite the United States already footing nearly half of the total budget for COVAX, the global vaccination effort, the president is sending a clear message to American businesses: ‘We can take what is yours whenever we want it.'” “For years, China and other totalitarian regimes have sought the aggressive expansion of influence and allies across the world in an attempt to dethrone the United States as the beacon of democracy and hope in the world. By forfeiting American intellectual property, President Joe Biden is setting a dangerous new foreign policy precedent—the United States will simply give away the fruits of American investment and innovation to anyone who demands it.” “As such, ACU urges the Biden administration to immediately reverse its support of the WTO TRIPS waiver and lawmakers to push back on the president’s attempts to prioritize political expediency over American innovation.” Watch the ad below: NEWS & RELEASES .
