Matt Schlapp’s Fox News op-ed: Big Tech won’t stop until we stop them Today CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp penned an op-ed for FoxNews.com to call out Big Tech platforms like YouTube for censoring conservatives, and to lay out solutions to stop these would be online hall monitors. While the eyes of the world focus on the suffering of Ukraine and the threat of war between nuclear powers, Big Tech oligarchs have quietly been scrubbing their platforms of content they consider to be “misinformation.” While Russian President Vladimir Putin tramples on the rights of free Ukrainians and cracks down on dissent within Russia, Silicon Valley elites are using the same playbook to stifle the free exchange of thoughts and ideas here in the United States. Ironic, isn’t it? Last week, the American Conservative Union, where I serve as chairman and which hosts the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), discovered that YouTube had once again banned President Donald Trump’s 2022 CPAC speech from its platform. The liberal cowards who run America’s Big Tech companies and serve as online hall monitors on behalf of the globalist establishment have silenced President Trump in the past. He repeatedly exposed the dangers their Marxist ideology poses to the country, and his ability to speak directly to the people threatened their planned socialist takeover of America. …First, Big Tech leaders tried to silence President Trump. Now, they’re trying to silence CPAC. Next, they’re going to come after you. Read more on FoxNews.com NEWS & RELEASES . New Hampshire Rises in National Conservative Rankings CPAC Releases Scorecard of all 400 NH Lawmakers ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 23, 2022) — The voting of New Hampshire’s state lawmakers is trending more conservative according to a new analysis conducted by the Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), a project of CPAC Foundation and the American Conservative Union Foundation. In CPAC’s analysis of all 7,400 state lawmakers in America, the New Hampshire legislature’s conservative rating increased to 51%, a significant jump over the state’s 39% rating the previous session. New Hampshire has now surpassed Alaska (46%), Virginia (45%), Minnesota (44%) and Delaware (40%) in conservative voting. The conservative rating is calculated through CPAC’s scorecards and is based on lawmaker voting across 186 policy areas ranging from cultural and life issues to tax, fiscal, and regulatory policies. The state’s jump in rankings is largely attributed to a pickup in Republican seats from 2020 to 2021 and strong leadership by Speaker Sherman Packard which resulted in House Republicans averaging a staggering 92% rating. Additionally, there was some slight improvement in the voting of Senate Democrats. NEW HAMPSHIRE SCORECARD (Web Version) NEW HAMPSHIRE SCORECARD (PDF Version) The ratings have also been incorporated into CPAC’s new Lawmaker Comparison Tool which runs head-to-head comparisons on lawmaker’s strongest and weakest policy areas. The CLA is the first and only organization to annually publish individual ratings for all 8,000 federal and state lawmakers in America. The CLA is also home to the nation’s most comprehensive conservative policy database containing over 17,500 detailed bill analyses which span 50 years of Congress and all 50 state legislatures. CPAC Urges Override of Gov. Andy Beshear’s Vetoes News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. CPAC Urges Override of Gov. Andy Beshear’s Vetoes The Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) sent the following letter urging representatives to override of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s vetoes. Dear State Representative : This session, so-called “moderate” Gov. Andy Beshear has been decidedly against conservative reforms offered by the legislature. Over the next few days, you can fight back against Gov. Beshear’s vetoes. We at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC) view this week as a prime opportunity to send a message to the voters that Gov. Beshear’s California-esque policies are not in line with Kentucky values. In that regard, we encourage you to override the following vetoes: SB 1: Bans Marxist Critical Race Theory in Schools HB 3: Strong Pro-Life Protections HB 9: Empowering Parents through School Choice SB 83: The Save Women’s Sports Act SB 213: Enhanced Election Security Accordingly, CPAC strongly supports these bills and urges you to override the vetoes . We have recommended to our colleagues at the American Conservative Union Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability (Ratings) that they positively score the above-listed bills in their 2022 ratings. Thank you for your service in the legislature. – Conservative Political Action Coalition Take Action Tell your representatives to override Gov. Beshear’s vetoes! Sign our petition here . A fully-armed, nuclear-capable Iran News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. A fully-armed, nuclear-capable Iran This week, the United Nations will vote on a U.S. resolution calling for an extension of the arms embargo against Iran—the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. If the resolution fails, as many experts predict, President Trump’s administration will likely invoke “ snapback sanctions ,” which in turn would mark the end of the failed Obama/Biden Iran nuclear deal (the JCPOA). In Biden’s America, Iran not only gets a pass—it gets a helping hand. As Vice President, Biden backed the JCPOA that freed up $150 billion for Iran’s use in financing its terrorist activities. His senate record on dealing with Iran is equally dangerous. In 2006, Biden voted against an amendment to the Defense Policy Act that called for Iran’s self-determination. The amendment called for imposing sanctions on foreign governments and companies that heavily invest in the country while Iran continues to move toward becoming a nuclear threat. The record is clear. Joe Biden is soft on Iran and soft on Iran’s most powerful, strategic allies—Russia and China. In Biden’s America, would the welcome mat be rolled out for our adversaries? The record speaks for itself. NEWS & RELEASES . CPAC Releases Vermont Legislative Scorecard, Illuminating the Left’s Plan to Undermine America’s Elections. ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 14, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals several noteworthy attempts to change election laws in Vermont. In 2023, Democrat legislators amended the town charters of various municipalities to allow illegal immigrants and minors to vote. They also attempted to enact ranked-choice voting in some major areas. Though this type of legislation is not exclusive to Vermont, it is helpful to view these bills as a good sampling of what the most radical Leftists have in store for America’s election system. SEE SCORECARD HERE “If you thought ballot harvesting was bad, Democrats in Vermont used last session to begin allowing cities to let illegal immigrants and minors vote,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “If that was not offensive enough, Vermont also passed legislation allowing businesses to get sued if they misgender an employee.” The following members of the Vermont State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session Senate: Brian Collamore (100%) Russ Ingalls (100%) Terry Williams (100%) Randy Brock (90%) Robert Norris (90%) David Weeks (90%) House: Carolyn Whitney Branagan (100%) Eileen Dickinson (100%) Rodney Graham (100%) Lisa Hango (100%) Mark Higley (100%) Larry Labor (100%) Woodman Page (100%) Joseph Parsons (100%) Arthur Peterson (100%) Brian Smith (100%) Charles Wilson (100%) William Canfield (90%) Paul Clifford (90%) Wayne Laroche (90%) Additionally, several lawmakers in the Vermont State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. Their names are highlighted in gray on the scorecard. The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Vermont address abortion, election security, and DEI initiatives. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Vermont legislature. The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area. ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Kansas State Legislature News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Kansas State Legislature The Kansas State Legislature has become less conservative in the last year, with more lawmakers casting liberal votes, according to scores released by the American Conservative Union Foundation. The American Conservative Union Foundation conducts an annual, in-depth analysis to rate all 8,000 lawmakers in America, revealing their positions on a wide variety of issues directly affecting our communities and families. The state continues to lead in conservative health care innovations, including lowering health care costs by expanding access to association health plans. House Democrats (26.77%) voted for the conservative position on only one in four issues , earning a conservative rating roughly four percent above the national Democrat average (22.84%). Both lower chamber caucuses maintained averages similar to the 2019 session. House Republicans (79%) once again had more conservative voting records than their Republican colleagues in the Senate, supporting the conservative position on nearly eight of ten issues . Check out the press release below with more details and please take action ! It only takes three minutes to let your legislators know that their score from the American Conservative Union Foundation is important to you, and you expect them to support more conservative policies. New Leftist Lawmakers Dash Kansas Legislature’s Ranking as a Top Conservative State in New Analysis Alexandria, VA—Lawmakers of the Kansas Legislature voted more liberally in the 2020 session than in years past, according to new analysis by ACUF, the host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Kansas has previously ranked as the ninth-most conservative legislature. Early results from the 2020 analysis indicate Kansas has fallen out of the Top 10 Most Conservative Legislatures in the country. Review the scorecard to see the ratings of all Kansas state lawmakers and find out which votes ACUF (American Conservative Union Foundation) scored. The overall average score of the Kansas Legislature fell from 65% to 55%. Senate Democrats lurched left, voting significantly less often for the conservative position than in 2019 (33% to 13%). The upper chamber even picked up four members of ACUF’s “Coalition of the Radical Left.” These members opposed the conservative position on at least 90% of the issues: Sens. Marci Francisco, Pat Pettey, Mary Ware and the new Senate Minority Leader Dinah Sykes (ACUF Lifetime 22%). “It’s tragic to see the socialist nature of national Democrats infect Democrats in my home state of Kansas,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “There was once a tradition of centrism that has been abandoned as Governor Kelly and her party advocate for cruel and painful abortion procedures, restrictive lockdowns and policies that will prevent Kansans from thriving. Perhaps Governor DeSantis could run in two states?” House Democrats (26.77%) voted conservatively on one in four issues, earning a conservative rating roughly 4% above the national Democrat average (22.84%). Both lower chamber caucuses maintained averages similar to the 2019 session. House Republicans (79%) once again voted to the right of their Senate colleagues, and on average supported the conservative position on nearly eight of 10 issues. Senate Republicans took an 18-point drop (79.89% to 61.64%). Perhaps signaling change, incoming Senate Majority Leader Ty Masterson (ACUF Lifetime 86%) ranked in the top four most conservative senators for 2020. ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). These ratings are designed to reflect how over 8,000 elected officials across the nation view the role of government while illustrating the differences between chambers of the legislature and revealing lawmakers’ positions on a wide variety of issues that directly affect citizens. CPAC Releases Nebraska Legislative Scorecard, Revealing Underwhelming Results from a Republican Majority. ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 5, 2023) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals a wide disparity between legislators in the Nebraska Unicameral, with just 14.2% of the legislature earning an award from CPAC for voting with the conservative position on legislation more than 80% of the time. SEE THE SCORECARD HERE “Though the Nebraska legislature was composed of a healthy conservative majority, Republican lawmakers missed the opportunity to defend conservative values in the 2022 session," Said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp . "Thankfully Nebraska reversed course in 2023, with conservatives holding the line to defend life and protect children from radical irreversible gender procedures." The following Nebraska state legislators are recognized by CPAC for their conservative voting records based on a just-released analysis from CPAC Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability. The following members earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement: Steve Halloran (88%) Tom Briese (86%) John Lowe (85%) Robert Clements (83%) Steve Erdman (82%) Dave Murman (82%) Dan Hughes (80%) The bills featured in CPAC's 2022 Ratings of Nebraska addressed various issues including protections against men competing in women’s sports, the expansion of second amendment rights, increased election integrity, and tax reductions. ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Illinois General Assembly News & Releases Explore the latest updates, news, and product releases to stay informed and ahead of the curve. ACU Foundation Releases Scores of Illinois General Assembly Speaker Madigan Radicalized Illinois Democrats, Resulting in Pritzker’s “Fair Tax” Proposal Alexandria, VA— Over the 35 years Speaker Madigan has presided over the lower chamber, Democrats have increasingly voted more liberally , according to new analysis from the American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF), host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). This new radical Left regime has since passed Governor J.B. Pritzker’s “soak the rich” progressive income tax regime which Illinoisans will consider on the November 2020 ballot. In 2012 when ACUF first began analyzing the voting records of the General Assembly, House Democrats earned an average conservative score of 35%. However, as Speaker Madigan began turning in scores of 16%, 6% and 5% over the next few sessions, House Democrats followed suit and earned average scores of 19%, 14% and 11%. “While Speaker Madigan’s near-five-decade reign appears to be coming to a disgraceful end, the Illinois Democrats he helped convert into socialists have so far survived his criminal scandal,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Throughout his 47 years in power, Illinois has earned the lowest credit rating in the country, weathered the most severe pension crisis in U.S. history and suffered the worst population decline in the last 10 years. Is there a more damning indictment of liberalism than Madigan’s tenure in government?” House Democrats earned a 17.92% average compared to Senate Democrats with 14.09%. A greater share of senators (10%) earned awards for conservative voting records than representatives (7%). The Illinois General Assembly matched its overall average score compared to the previous session (35.6%).
