New Idaho Scorecard Reveals Divide Within GOP Awards to be Presented to Top-Scoring Idaho Lawmakers at CPAC ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 6, 2022) — As Idaho kicks off its legislative session next week, CPAC and the ACUF’s latest Idaho legislative shows the legislative body becoming more conservative as a whole. While the report found a significant divide still exists among the GOP in adherence to conservative principles, it also found several Idaho lawmakers made significant improvements in voting with the conservative position. As a result, Idaho’s overall conservative ranking rose to 69.9% in 2021, a 14 percentage point improvement over the prior two years (55.8% in 2020, 56.6% in 2019). Click Here to view the 2021 Ratings of Idaho This year ACU will be inviting 48 Idaho legislators to receive awards for their conservative voting records at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) taking place in Orlando, Florida from February 24-27, 2022. To earn an invitation, a lawmaker must vote with the conservative position at least 80% of the time, as calculated by the American Conservative Union Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability. Using Department of Homeland Security anti-terrorism grants funded with taxpayer money, President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have paid anti-democratic, leftist groups to take down CPAC and other mainstream center-right organizations and their right to free speech. The Biden Administration has weaponized the government to silence and intimidate conservative voices along with Americans who disagree with the Left’s radical ideology. The difference in scores between the Republican and Democrats members of the legislature are the largest of any state in the nation during the 2023 session. Additionally, 24 of the bills rated positively by CPAC were vetoed by Democrat Governor Hobbs, further exemplifying the divide between parties in Arizona.
