  • Passover and the Enduring Meaning of Freedom

As Passover begins this week, Jewish families gather around their tables to retell one of the oldest stories in human history - the journey from slavery to freedom. It is a story that has been told, without interruption, for thousands of years. While many Americans may know it in broad terms - Moses, Pharaoh, the Exodus - its core message reaches far beyond any one community. At its heart, Passover is about a simple but demanding truth: freedom is never automatic. It must be valued, protected, and passed on, generation after generation. That message feels especially relevant this year. The United States and Israel remain at war with Iran and its proxies, and the weight of that reality is not distant—it is personal, affecting families and communities in real time, both at home and abroad. At the same time, some Israeli hostages who were held in captivity are now home, and for those families, this will be the first Passover celebrated in freedom. It reminds us that the themes of the Exodus - captivity, deliverance, resilience - are not confined to ancient history. They continue to play out in ways that are immediate and real. Here in the United States, there has also been a shift in awareness. Rising antisemitism has made clear that even in a country defined by religious liberty, no community can take its security for granted. Incidents that once might have seemed unthinkable are now part of the national conversation. And yet, what has stood out is not just the challenge, but the response. Across the country, people have shown a willingness to speak out, to stand alongside their Jewish neighbors, and to treat antisemitism not as a niche issue, but as a broader test of our shared values. This is one theme that was discussed on several panels at CPAC this past weekend. That response reflects something essential about the American experiment. The strength of this country comes from individuals and communities who are willing to live their beliefs openly and without apology, and from a society that protects that right. Religious freedom is not sustained by words alone—it depends on a culture that takes it seriously and defends it when it is tested. This year, many Jewish families will sit at their tables with a mix of emotions—gratitude for those who are home, concern for those who are still in harm’s way, and a renewed awareness of how fragile freedom can be. But they will also do something else: they will tell the story, pass it on, and reaffirm their commitment to the values it represents. For a broader American audience, there is something meaningful in that example. The fight against hatred—whether directed at Jews, Christians, or any other group—is strongest when it is shared. It is about recognizing that a threat to one community’s freedom is, ultimately, a threat to the integrity of the society as a whole. Passover does not end with hardship. It ends with hope. With the belief that things can be better, that freedom can endure, and that people of faith—across different traditions but with shared commitments—can stand together in defense of it. That is a message worth carrying beyond this week, and one that speaks directly to the kind of country Americans continue to strive to build. Chag Pesach Sameach—and to all who are reflecting on the meaning of freedom in their own way, a meaningful and hopeful season.

  • A Huge Win For Education Freedom in Kentucky

By Simon Laird, CPAC Policy Analyst In March, Kentucky lawmakers voted to opt in to President Trump’s nationwide scholarship plan - a huge win for school choice in the Bluegrass state. The scholarship plan was created at the Federal level via the One Big Beautiful Bill in 2025. Under the plan, anyone in America can donate up to $1,700 to a Scholarship Granting Organization and receive a $1,700 tax credit the next time they file their taxes. The Scholarship Granting Organization, in turn, gives scholarships to K-12 students. In order to be eligible, a student’s state must opt in to the program. Opting in is a common-sense move. If a state does not opt in, the scholarship dollars will simply go to other states. Zero state budget dollars are used for these scholarships. That’s why 28 states have opted into the scholarship program so far. Most state governors who have opted in have been Republicans, but Democratic governor Jared Polis of Colorado also opted in, calling the program “a real boom of investment in kids.” Students will begin receiving funds in 2027.  Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky intended to exclude Kentucky from the scholarship program, blocking Kentucky kids from access to millions of dollars of scholarship money. Andy Beshear came from a wealthy family and attended private schools for part of his education. He also sent his kids to private schools for part of their education, but he has fought to make it more difficult for other people to attend private schools. Earlier in March, the Kentucky legislature intervened and passed a law that will ensure that Kentucky students are able to get scholarships through the Federal program, despite Andy Beshear’s opposition. Since the new scholarship program does not use any state education dollars, the program enjoyed broad support among Kentucky legislators, even those who had previously been reluctant to endorse school choice measures. According to the Federal statute, a state’s decision to opt in is made either by the governor or by another official as specified by state law. Kentucky legislators passed a law to take the decision out of Andy Beshear’s hands and put it in the hands of the Secretary of State, who is expected to opt in, freeing up millions of dollars of much-needed funding for students and schools in Kentucky. Governor Beshear attempted to veto the law, but it was overridden.

  • CPAC Statement Supporting President Trump’s Leadership in the Western Hemisphere

Presented by CPAC Senior Fellow Mercedes Schlapp. CPAC strongly supports President Donald J. Trump’s decisive leadership in restoring stability, sovereignty, and democratic accountability throughout the Western Hemisphere. After years of neglect that allowed hostile regimes, transnational criminal organizations, and foreign adversaries to expand their influence, President Trump has reasserted American strength. From confronting the socialist dictatorship in Venezuela and standing with the Cuban people, to challenging the authoritarian regimes in Nicaragua and beyond, his administration has made clear that America will not surrender to tyranny, narco-terrorism, or foreign powers seeking to undermine freedom. President Trump’s policies have strengthened border security, disrupted human trafficking networks, and reduced the chaos that destabilizes nations across the region. By pressuring regimes that cause mass migration through repression and economic mismanagement, while supporting pro-freedom movements and democratic leaders, his administration has addressed the root causes of instability rather than merely managing its consequences. At the same time, renewed economic partnerships grounded in fair trade, energy independence, and private-sector development offer a pathway to prosperity that stands in stark contrast to the failed socialist models that have impoverished millions. CPAC supports expanding sanctions against corrupt officials; strengthening alliances with democratic governments; and countering the growing presence of China, Iran, and other hostile actors in the region. The Monroe Doctrine’s core principle, that outside powers must not dominate the Americas, remains as relevant today as ever. The people of the Western Hemisphere deserve freedom, security, and opportunity, not exploitation by authoritarian regimes or criminal networks.

  • The Call for Freedom: Highlights from the Third Day of CPAC USA 2026

Conservatives gathered for the Final Day of CPAC USA 2026 for an exciting lineup of heads of state, White House officials, and other prominent conservative lawmakers and influencers. Speakers addressed the packed Main Stage, calling for unity and fellowship among conservatives to put America first and promote liberty across the globe. CPAC was excited to welcome many speakers, such as Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr., U.S. Senators Rick Scott and Ted Cruz, U.S. Representative Kat Cammack, and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner. The exiled Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, addressed hundreds of attendees and supporters advocating for a free Iran that supports human rights and free democratic elections. The radical regime in Tehran has for too long oppressed the people of Iran, denying fundamental human rights to women, other religions, and those who simply want a free country. Pahlavi welcomed the support from the United States and Israel in countering the global threat of terror. "The truth is simple: the Islamic Republic cannot reform itself. You cannot reform a snake; venom is in its DNA," said Pahlavi. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined Main Stage CPAC USA 2026 with CPAC Senior Fellow Mercedes Schlapp for a discussion on the significant strides that he and the Trump Administration have made in making America healthy again. Secretary Kennedy is flipping the script by treating the causes of what makes America unhealthy, such as toxic chemicals and additives, instead of simply prescribing medications that have many adverse effects. This year's CPAC USA 2026 marks a historic moment in the global conservative movement. CPAC stands with its many allies in America and the world to continue the fight for freedom and the human right of liberty and free expression. We invite you to join next year's CPAC USA 2027 in Florida to support the largest conservative movement that puts America First.

  • The Global Fight for Freedom: Highlights from the Second Day of CPAC USA 2026

The second day of CPAC USA 2026 concluded today, gathering patriots, international allies, and influential lawmakers from across the globe. This historic day allowed attendees to connect with speakers and like-minded patriots dedicated to making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous. The day’s programming featured a diverse array of panelists focused on America First policies and global conservative solidarity, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, former South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, Michael Knowles, Jack Posobiec, U.S. Representative James Comer, Todd Chrisley, and Mike Lindell. Former South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn addressed the CPAC Main Stage, speaking out about the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, politically motivated censorship, and lawfare used against conservatives in South Korea. Korea was shocked by the persecution of President Yoon Suk Yeol, who has been detained by a corrupt establishment in Seoul influenced by the CCP. "We call for the adoption of a U.S. Congressional resolution urging the immediate release of President Yoon Suk Yeol, who has been impeached and detained by anti-state forces and the CCP," said Kyo-ahn. Prime Minister Kyo-ahn called on conservatives in South Korea and around the world to unify and protect freedom of speech and liberty around the world. Conservative influencers Jack Posobiec, host of Human Events Daily, and Michael Knowles, host of The Michael Knowles Show, spoke on Main Stage for a heartfelt address about the tragic loss of a great patriot and personal friend, Charlie Kirk, saying that conservatives need to draw closer in his honor to support the timeless traditional and conservative values he stood for. "Charlie Kirk stood for freedom of speech, and indeed, Charlie Kirk died for that ideal of freedom of speech in the public square," said Posobiec. Knowles condemned the media’s and radical left's demonization of Kirk, reporting that a shocking 1 in 5 Democrats think Kirk’s assassination was justified simply because he spoke about family, faith, and the preservation of what makes America great. Knowles called on Conservatives to unify in the memory of Charlie Kirk and everything he stood for: "Conservatives, we gotta get on the program, unify, keep our eyes on the prize, and win because we can do it. We've done it before, and we can do it again." The second day of CPAC USA 2026 demonstrated the power of unified conservative leadership and international cooperation in addressing threats to freedom and prosperity. From the exposure of communist influence and political persecution abroad to the call for solidarity in the face of adversity from a corrupt, radical left and media establishment. The speakers' messages, whether condemning lawfare against political opponents, defending free speech against censorship, or honoring those who sacrificed for liberty, converged on a singular imperative: that conservatives must stand together with resolve and purpose. As attendees left the Main Stage, they carried forward a renewed commitment to the principles of freedom, traditional values, and American strength that have defined the conservative movement. The connections forged and dialogue advanced at CPAC USA 2026 signal that the fight for these ideals will continue with strengthened resolve across America and the globe.

  • Frank Chapman to Join CPAC USA 2026

CPAC is proud to announce that Frank Chapman is a confirmed speaker for CPAC USA 2026 in Grapevine, Texas, March 25-28. Frank Chapman is a Wyoming father, entrepreneur, businessman, and licensed outfitter who has built his life around protecting property rights, safeguarding 2nd Amendment rights, defending individual freedom, and standing up to government overreach.   President Trump’s overwhelming success in changing the direction of our country encouraged Frank to run for Congress.  A fellow businessman, Frank wants to join the President’s fight to Make America Great Again.  The America First agenda drives Frank’s core values of protecting life, secure borders, a strong military, and a growing economy. Frank felt the calling to run for Congress when neighbors said he was uniquely qualified to help his fellow Wyomingites.  Frank is the only candidate who has the knowledge and experience to fight the United States Government and stand up for our rights, our way of life.  The time is now. More than a decade ago, Frank chose Wyoming as his home and committed his life and livelihood to this state. He invested here, built his business here, and rooted his future in the values that define Wyoming — faith, hard work, independence, and personal responsibility. Frank understands the importance of small businesses in Wyoming because he lives it. As the owner and operator of Heart Six Ranch in Moran, Frank runs the ranch with the help of his three sons — Jack, Hugh, and Jimmy. Jack, a former college football player, is now a technology entrepreneur, while Hugh and Jimmy are in college and return home to help whenever they can. For Frank, it’s not just a business — it’s a family operation built on hard work, responsibility, and the values that make Wyoming great. As a rancher, Frank works daily under federal permits from the USDA, US Forest Service and The National Park Service. He understands firsthand how federal regulations affect ranchers, outfitters, energy producers, and working families. He has navigated the bureaucracy, faced the delays, and experienced the pressure Washington policies place on Wyoming livelihoods. But Frank has never simply accepted it. For nearly three decades as an attorney, Frank has represented individuals and businesses who found themselves up against government agencies. When federal bureaucrats exceeded their authority, Frank fought them — and he won. He has taken on federal agencies in court, defended constitutional rights, and secured outcomes that protected private citizens from overreach. Frank doesn’t just talk about fighting Washington — he has confronted it directly on behalf of real people. A graduate of Ohio University (B.B.A., Accounting, Cum Laude) and Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D.), Frank built his law practice from the ground up. Over nearly thirty years in legal practice, he has maintained an unblemished professional record and has never faced disciplinary action — a testament to his integrity, his commitment to the rule of law, and the trust he has earned from clients, colleagues, and the communities he serves. Frank believes Wyoming deserves a Representative who will take individual concerns seriously — whether it’s a rancher fighting a federal land issue, a small business owner buried in regulation, or a citizen whose rights are being ignored. He has the legal training, the business experience, and the proven willingness to confront federal agencies and deliver results. Frank believes: The Constitution must guide every decision in Washington. Wyoming’s land, water, energy, and property rights must be defended. Federal agencies must answer to the people — not rule over them. Small businesses deserve opportunity, not obstruction. Individual liberty is worth fighting for. His campaign motto reflects his record: “When We Fight… We Win.” For far too long, Washington has forgotten Wyoming. It’s the small business owners, ranchers, and families working hard to make ends meet who make Wyoming great. That’s why Frank is running. For them. For you. Not the special interests. Not the insiders. And certainly not Washington, D.C. bureaucrats. Frank is ready to go door to door and hear from everyone. If you have an idea to make our state stronger — for our kids, our communities, and our way of life — he’s ready to listen. CPAC is proud to announce that Frank Chapman is a confirmed speaker for CPAC USA 2026 in Grapevine, Texas, March 25-28. Reserve your tickets today here .
