CPAC Releases Florida Legislative Scorecard, Showing the Sunshine State Setting the Standard for Conservative Policy in the US.
ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 5, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis reveals that Florida Republicans maintained their status as some of the nation’s strongest defenders of conservative principles. The state’s overall average score also increased by about nine percent, the likes of which is largely a result of the red wave Florida experienced in the 2022 election.
“Behind the strong leadership of Gov. Ron DeSantis, Republicans in the legislature have turned Florida into the national leader in the charge against the rising tide of wokeness and Leftism sweeping through our country.” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Florida’s commitment to the passage of high-quality conservative legislation sets an example that other states should follow.”

The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Florida promote school choice, protect children from radical gender ideology, and improve election security. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and uphold the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Florida legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
