CPAC Releases Colorado Legislative Scorecard, Revealing the Passage of Incredibly Leftist Policies.
ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 27, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s latest analysis reveals that Colorado’s Democrat majority legislature voted in lockstep during their previous session. Qualitatively, the bulk of their most partisan legislation read similarly to laws set forth in California and Oregon.
“Democrats in Colorado have once again expressed their willingness to put radical gender ideology, an expansive government bureaucracy, and the climate religion above the interests of the people they serve,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “As a result, Colorado has continued its spiral downward on our scorecard.”
Several Colorado state legislators are recognized for their conservative voting records. The following members of the Colorado State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session:
Senate:
Mark Baisley (96%)
Kevin Van Winkle (96%)
Rod Pelton (91%)
House:
Rod Bockenfeld (100%)
Scott Bottoms (100%)
Brandi Bradley (100%)
Stephanie Luck (100%)
Don Wilson (100%)
Ty Winter (96%)
Ryan Armagost (96%)
Kenneth DeGraaf (96%)
Gabe Evans (92%)
Lisa Frizell (92%)
Anthony Hartsook (92%)
Richard Holtorf (92%)
Additionally, many lawmakers in the Colorado State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. Their names are highlighted in gray on the scorecard.
The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Colorado address undermine property rights, diminish Second Amendment freedoms, and increase taxpayer-funded welfare programs. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, and property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Colorado legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
