CPAC Releases Nevada Legislative Scorecard, Exposing a ‘Republican’ Governor in Name Only.
ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 27, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s latest analysis reveals that, despite its Republican governor, Nevada fell prey to the Left’s extremist agenda. Nevada’s Democrats received an average rating of 2% and made significant strides toward the accomplishment of the Left’s radical public policy goals.
“Republican Governor Joe Lombardo rarely stands up for conservative ideals and is willing to side with Democrats on a lot of key issues,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “For example, Gov. Lombardo went against his party and signed legislation making Nevada an abortion ‘sanctuary state,’ a bill requiring insurers and taxpayers to pay for radical gender surgeries, and legislation which would allow men in women’s prisons.”
A few lawmakers in the Nevada State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2023 session. They are as follows:
Gregory Hafen (86%)
Alexis Hansen (86%)
Ira Hansen (86%)
Robin Titus (85%)
Jill Dickman (82%)
Ken Gray (82%)
Jeff Stone (82%)
The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Nevada limit Second Amendment freedoms, promote radical gender ideology, and diminish election security. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and upholding the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Nevada legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
